After starring in The Young Victoria, Into the Woods and The Girl on the Train, Emily Blunt, 38, has become one of the most respected actresses of her generation.
But she is perhaps best-known for her supporting role in The Devil Wears Prada, where she arguably outshone Anne Hathaway as Miranda Priestly’s senior assistant.
Believe it or not, that was 15 years ago—and Emily is looking a little bit different these days. Let’s take a closer look at her beauty evolution from 2004 to today.
From 2004: Before She Was Famous
At the 2004 British Independent Film Awards
Our first photo is of a 21-year-old Emily, who had already been acting in professional theatre productions since age 18. As you can see, her natural hair colour is a light golden brown, styled here in those Sienna Miller-esque Boho waves that were so popular in the early ‘00s. She looks so effortlessly pretty!
From 2006-2010: Hollywood’s New Favourite
At the 2006 New York City Premiere of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’
After becoming a redhead for The Devil Wears Prada, she deepened her hair into this cool-toned auburn, which is so striking with her colouring. And isn’t it refreshing to see such a bare face for a red carpet premiere? That doesn’t happen anymore! Also look at her smile—pre-bleaching, pre-veneers and pre-lip injections.
At the 2006 Hollywood Life Breakthrough of the Year Awards
If I hadn’t seen the previous two photos, I would’ve sworn that this was Emily’s natural hair colour. Dark brunette was her signature shade during these early years of fame—and you can see why, when it puts the focus on her beautiful, expressive eyes. Another distinctive feature was her cleft chin, which I believe she tweaked down the road with filler or maybe even a permanent chin implant.
